About the organisers

The volunteer-led team behind the Alloa Half Marathon.

The Alloa Half Marathon is proudly organised by Alloa Round Table, a local volunteer-led organisation with a long history of supporting communities across Clackmannanshire.

The Half Marathon is much more than a running event. It is one of Alloa Round Table’s biggest annual fundraising activities, with the proceeds helping us support local charities, community organisations, sports clubs, schools and individuals throughout the Wee County.

Run by volunteers, for the community

Behind the scenes, the Alloa Half Marathon takes months of planning. Members of Alloa Round Table volunteer their time to organise the event, working alongside local authorities, emergency services, running clubs, sponsors, contractors and hundreds of volunteers to bring everything together on race day.

From road closures and medical provision to water stations, marshals, medals and the finish line, there’s a huge amount happening behind the scenes to make sure thousands of runners can enjoy a safe and memorable race.

We’re also incredibly fortunate to have the support of local organisations and volunteers who return year after year. The Half Marathon simply couldn’t happen without them.

Where does the money go?

One of the things that makes the Alloa Half Marathon special is what happens after the finish line has been packed away.

Money raised through the event is reinvested back into the local community through Alloa Round Table.

Over the years, funds raised through the Half Marathon and our other fundraising activities have helped support local schools, children’s organisations, sports clubs, community groups and charities, as well as projects supporting elderly, disadvantaged and vulnerable people across Clackmannanshire.

Since the Alloa Half Marathon began in 1984, more than £1 million has been raised for good causes.

So when you enter the Alloa Half Marathon, you’re not simply paying to take part in a race. You’re helping us continue supporting organisations and people right here in our local community.

About Alloa Round Table

Alloa Round Table is part of the wider Round Table movement – a network of local groups built around friendship, community involvement and fundraising.

Our members come from different backgrounds and professions but share one thing in common: a desire to get involved and make a positive difference locally.

Throughout the year, we organise and support a range of community and fundraising activities, with the Alloa Half Marathon being by far our largest event.

And while the race may have grown considerably over the years, its purpose remains the same:

To put on a fantastic event for runners while raising as much money as possible for the local community.

When you cross the finish line in Alloa, you’re helping us do exactly that.

Thank you for supporting the Alloa Half Marathon and Alloa Round Table.
